Hello, my name is Lisa Almgren (Producer) and Morgaine Müller (writer/director) we are both from The European Film College and are in the making of short film.
Production location: Aarhus, Denmark
Audition Location: SKOVGAARDSGADE 3 DK-8000 AARHUS C (It will be at Aarhus film workshop) If you can’t come here we are open for Skype auditions. But the shooting will take place in Aarhus.
Synopsis: Harmonics is a hopeful drama that follows the life of a young girl named Emma. Emma loves to dance, but since she is born deaf she feels reliant on her cochlear implants. When the cochlear implant falls off because of the sudden movements in her dance she struggles. She isn’t trusting herself and it’s holding her back. One day Emma meets Thomas, they quickly become friends and later on Thomas teaches Emma that there is a way to dance without sound, by trusting the vibrations that Emma can feel.
We are searching for some wonderful actors that want to work with us to create this short. The movie is all about inclusivity and accepting, we would like to work with people and supporters from the deaf and LGBTQ community to create this short.
Character BIOS
[EMMA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 16-25] Emma is born deaf, she has been growing up with a cochlear implant which have made her shy. Her family is slight upper class and her mother is very protective of her since she has the cochlear implant.
We are looking for: A girl with a cochlear implant. We want to work with someone that has true experiences from this.
[THOMAS] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 16-25] Thomas is a proud and open homosexuall boy. He has a deaf mother and when he meets Emma a young deaf girl with a cochlear implant. They quickly become friends and he teach her to be strong and proud about yourself.
Optional : To be able to sign 2 lines with his deaf mother. If you can’t sign, be able to sign the 2 lines we show you. His role is not based on signing. only one shorter sequence.
[MOTHER] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE:40 - 55] Thomas mother is deaf. She doesn’t have a hearing aid and only sign with her son. She feels that cochlear implants and might be a threat to deaf society. We are looking for: A woman who is deaf or have any form of hearing loss. We want someone with the ability to sign and have personal experiences of hearing loss.
[MOTHER] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE:40 - 55] Emma’s mother is a closer to “upper class”. Emma is her only child who was born deaf. She is therefore very protective of Emma and worries about her, sometime a little to much.
[EXTRAS] [DANCERS ] [17-30] To have the ability to dance or take on coregrify classical dance mixed with modern dance
[EXTRAS] [BAR/CLUB] [18 - 35+] We need party people for the queer nightclub that Thomas takes Emma to. We would love for drag queens and LGBTQ to join in and all you who like to dress up for a fun party. We want to create a beautiful show scene

We are also available to do audition on SKYPE, for you who can’t show up but want to participate. (Please note all auditions will be given a specific time within this window)
Compensation: There will be food on set, We are all student’s so unfortunately we can’t give more compensation, it will be a wonderful experience for all of us, and you are welcome to come on the premier that takes place at our school.
